What is CGC?
CGC is the abbreviation for Canine Good Citizen, which is a title earned after a test is taken that ensures that your dog is
sound in personality and obedience, something that genetic tests do not offer.
The CGC test is open to all breeds, including mixes and created breeds.
Basic Requirements
Participating dogs must be at least one year old. There is no maximum age.
Your dog must be wearing either a nylon, leather chain collar, or harness.
If your dog is wearing an electronic, pinch, or choke collar, head or muzzle halter, easy-walk harness or any other training type tool, you and your dog will be automatically disqualified for three days. Your dog must also not be wearing any tags.

We offer tites that require the completion of prompts that are meant to help you improve your artwork by drawing more difficult scenarios, which is afterall the main theme of DARPG (improvement). These title prompts have been adopted from the group #Title-Challenge which has gone inactive.
To earn these titles your dog must be registered with the Pedigree-Club. Prompts must be completed in order. Images used for shows, training, etc may double up and earn you titles here, so long as they fit the requirements for the prompt.
Submit these drawings to the Pedigree-Club, NOT Title-Challenge. These pictures go in the 'Shows and Events' folder.

Those who win Doberman of the year through any DPCoDA show that offers the title also will have some point benefits. Their pups will also get the benefits. What is a Service Dog?
Any dog assisting a person with a disability is considered a service dog.
A Service Dog (companion dog) and its handler are allowed equal access to anywhere the general public is allowed, such as restaurants, grocery stores, movie theaters, taxis, and aircraft, as well as providing protection for handlers living in places "pets" are not generally allowed.

We were all new to this kennel thing at some point, and it can all be a little confusing, like breeding or competing how does it work?
There are no rules or set limits on how to begin, you can go completely your own way and run this virtual kennel however you please.
But if you are confused to where to begin we got some guidelines for you.
Some basic words that is often used within the dog art world:
Darpg= Dog-Art-Role play game
Sire= The father of a dog
Dam= The mother of a dog
Dog= Sometimes used to describe a male dog
Bitch= Sometimes used to describe a female dog
Pedigree= A dogs bloodline, who are the parents of the dog, grandparents etc.
Temperament= A dogs personality
Discipline= What the dog is used for, what it is trained to do.
Show/full name= A dogs complete name for

Schutzhund Information
Schutzhund is german for "Protection dog".
Schutzhund offers something that no other sport can. It is outdoors, it is physical, it is mental.
The demands are great, but the sport also offers competition and new friendships. In short, it is what all recreational sports should first be: good exercise, fun and full of rewards.
Schutzhund was originally a test for dogs to which dogs could be used for breeding and which had true working ability.
The growing demand for working dogs made more sophisticated tests and training necessary, these dogs were needed for police training, border patrol, customs, military and herding.
There are 3 specific tests involved- tracking-obedience-protection.

Tracking: Requires the dog to track footsteps over mixed terrain, change direction and show absolute accuracy and commitment to finding the track. It must also find dropped articles and indicate their locations to the handler. Often this is done under less than ideal circumsta

Temperament TestThe FCI is hosting the only temperament test available earning your dog the TT title.
The test
The temperament test is here to recognize the temperaments of those dogs who are 'Sound in Mind as well as Sound in Body'.
The dogs temperament, training and health of the dog. Minimum age for a dog to take the test is 18 months.
There are ten areas that you can draw your dog being exposed to - only 2 pictures are required.

A stranger to the dog approaches the handler, shakes hands with the handler and engages the handler in a brief conversation, ignoring the dog. The purpose is to evaluate the dog's reaction to passive socialization and the dog's protective instinct. You may have any number of dogs working toward Obedience Titles at the same time, but can only participate in artist competitions with one dog at a time.

How Dog Shows Actually WorkI know many people want their confirmation shows to be realistic but there not always correct so I thought I would tell you how they actually work, this is also how Ruffts will be judged. This is based on what happens in the UK, yes it is slightly different in other countries but not much.

A thing which I see a lot - Best male and Best female should go for Best in Breed, not awarding a Best Male, a Best female and then a different best of breed - that is if you are wanting your show to be as realistic as possible

Breed Classes

First of all, your dog is entered into its breed class. This means that all the same breed are shown together, genders are shown in different classes. At most shows the classes are:
- Minor Puppy - For dogs of 6 months and not exceeding 9 calendar months of age on the first day of the show
- Puppy - For dogs of six and not exceeding twelve calendar months of age on the first day of the Show

The Kennel Club´s Point & Title System

What is the point system?
The point system was created to give something back for those drawings you make and the titles you earn.
You dont have to do this, its only for fun.
Point systems are made to encourage people to draw their dogs, and to also reach a goal.
The points are not the dA currency points, its just a made up system, think of it as experience points just like a game.
A description on how your dog can earn titles have been written up below.

Rules
You can not earn a title from TKC if the drawing was made for a different group or contest not hosted by TKC:
You can not count 1 image twice, that would be considered cheating, (for example- You can not count an image as an event but also a full body etc)
But drawings made to earn a title from our title system gives 5xp for a title but also 7xp for being an event.
Animations can be counted twice, if the animation was made for a contest for example, then the animation will gain 7xp + the given points for being an animation.
You have to be a member to be able to use our title and point system.

GUIDE_{This is mandatory for all members to use because lately we have been having trouble counting points because of the sometimes confusing way people situate them on the ref. This is how the titling should look when you send us a note.

Title System

_{What is the Title System?
This is an ongoing event, meaning it has no deadline and you finish the drawing whenever you want.
Some competitions that give out titles like "Tracking Dog Excellent" are hard to find on dA. So below is a list of some titles that TKC provides without having it to be a contest. This way you will know for sure that all those hours spent on an drawing, will be worth it.
A drawing made for our title system will give you 5xp for the title you earn, but you also get 7xp cause it is an event drawing.
TKC does not have every single title in the world of dog sport, reason for that is because we still havent found a legit site where the information says step by step what has to be done to earn that title.
Rules:
The drawings you make for your dog to earn a title from the title system has to be labeled or written somewhere in the description"Event/Show" not training.
If its a training picture the dog will not get the title.
The picture you draw for this CANNOT be for or from a contest you entered in here on dA or group unless you are reaching for a title at #K9-Unit
The background must be either semi or full, it must be full body- 1 headshot and/or 1 semi full body is ok per title Not per level of title.

You can count as many dogs as there is in the pedigree but only the dogs with titles going back fourth generations can be counted.

Pedigree-81 points (1 point for each dog)

You don't include pups in the pedigree it's just the line of dogs that went into this dog.

This was really messy to count. You need to recount this and do it correctly. Up in the journal it says how you should put it to us in your ref or note or comment so that way we count nice and neat with no mistakes.
So please recount and add things correctly and I will be more than happy to recount this again.
